Safety

Safety & Guidance
We want our customers to experience the freedom of exploring the nature and mountains on their own. That’s why we developed Laliguras – a Digital Hiking Buddy that can accompany you on your journey from the start to the end. While we truly believe in being lost in nature and embracing wanderlust, we encourage our customers to be mindful of the need to protect themselves, the nature, and the culture.
Individual
When embarking on mountain hikes, heightened awareness of potential health challenges is vital. Consider altitude effects, dehydration, and variable weather conditions. Adequate preparation with water, snacks, and a basic medical kit is crucial. Prioritize safety over speed and listen to your body's signals. Equally important is securing comprehensive travel insurance tailored for hiking activities. This coverage ensures financial protection in case of unforeseen accidents, medical emergencies, or trip interruptions. By proactively addressing health risks and investing in suitable insurance, hikers can confidently embrace the breathtaking landscapes while safeguarding their well-being and travel plans. At Laliguras, our partners (guides and porters) who may accompany you are insured, and we strongly encourage our customers to secure a travel insurance plan that covers for the incident that may arise during their hiking tour.
Nature
As a responsible hiker, it's essential to prioritize the safety of both you and the natural environment. While on the trails, show respect for nature by following designated paths, minimizing your impact, and refraining from disturbing plants, birds, and animals. Keep a safe distance from wildlife, as close encounters can stress or harm them. Avoid feeding animals, as it can disrupt their natural behaviors and diet. Carry out all your trash to maintain the pristine beauty of the wilderness. By being conscious of your actions, you contribute to the preservation of delicate ecosystems and ensure the well-being of the diverse creatures that call them home.
Culture
When hiking, extend your respect to the local community and culture. Engage with locals in a friendly and courteous manner, learning about their traditions and customs. Seek permission before entering private property or sacred sites. Contribute positively to the economy by purchasing local products and services. Avoid leaving any waste behind, as it can impact the environment and community. Keep noise levels in check, as excessive noise can disrupt the peace of the area. By being culturally sensitive and responsible, you not only enhance your hiking experience but also ensure that the local heritage and way of life are preserved for generations to come.
